They see only the most empowered and free people who celebrate their own existence, their birth, their very life\u201d, \u2013 Director K. Gudmonait\u0117 recounts on the \u201cFeast\u201d, the performance which has been created together with the disabled people.<\/p>\n<p>The disability still hides in the shadows of the social sphere. Ability to understand it requires the closer proximity of both the theatre and the audience, analysing it and trying to hear what the disabled themselves think about the phenomenon of disability. The performers seek to lay bare the concept of normality and to question the possibility of the diversity in human existence, as well as that in human sensations and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>According to the official statistics, the disabled in Lithuania make up around 9 % of the whole population \u2013 almost every tenth resident of our country. However, the majority of the people who are not disabled baldly state in the poll that there are no disabled people in Lithuania at all.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kamil\u0117 Gudmonait\u0117<\/strong> (b. 1992) is a graduate of the theater directing course at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (led by Gintaras Varnas), vocalist and songwriter of the musical duo <em>Kamani\u0173 \u0160ilelis<\/em>. She debuted with the play <em>A Dream<\/em>, based on the play by August Strindberg, which won the first prize at the theatre festival in Spoleto (Italy). The director\u2019s debut performance has also been awarded with the prize for best directing at the festival \u201cEncounter\u201d (Brno, Czech Republic) as well as the prize of the sympathies of the audience.
