Visitors programme for theatre professionals: programmers, curators, producers.

We are happy to announce: guest registration to SIRENOS festival is now open!

This year, SIRENOS will explore the theme of space: the inner spaces within us and the outer spaces we inhabit. The festival will take place from September 25th to October 13th.

The Lithuanian theatre showcase will be held from September 25th to 29th in Vilnius, presenting 10 shows created by both local and international artists from the past season in Lithuania.

International programme will last from September 30th to October 13th and will feature artists from Belgium, Spain, Greece and Ukraine. Guests are welcome in both parts of the programme. Just let us know when you are coming, and we will give you a big nice Lithuanian welcome!

What we provide:

  • Free tickets to all shows on Lithuanian theatre showcase;
  • Professional 50% discount to all shows on the International programme;
  • Discount at partner hotels: Hotel Vilnia, ibis Vilnius Centre;
  • Networking and club events.

SIRENOS Lithuanian theatre showcase is independently co-curated by different theatre professionals each year (appointed by the festival’s artistic director Kristina Savickienė). This year’s showcase is curated by theatrologists Kristina Steiblytė and Alma Braškytė.

The showcase will feature five productions by state theatres and five created by independent companies. In addition to famous international authors (Bernard-Marie Koltès’s “West Pier” and Florian Zeller’s “The Mother”), we are pleased to present new Lithuanian plays (Virginija Rimkaitė’s absurdist drama “Patina” and Justas Tertelis mono-play “PRAeis”), as well as pieces adapted from novels or dramas (Yana Ross’s “Consider the Lobster”, based on David Foster Wallace’s prose, and the adaptation of Albert Camus’s “Caligula”, directed by Jokūbas Brazys). In addition, there will be plays, inspired by documentary research, personalities and texts (Kamilė Gudmonaitė’s taxophone opera “Things I Didn’t Dare to Say, and Now It’s Too Late” and Paulius Markevičius experiential play “Cafè existans”). For a change of sight, we will give you a brief glance at Lithuanian visual theatre (Žilvinas Vingelis’ “Dilettante”, a play about Jean Cocteau) and contemporary dance (“Lustopia” by Silke Z., Laurynas Žakevičius and Airida Gudaitė).

As usual, Lithuanian productions will be awarded three prizes which will be determined by international jury members: Anna Maria Strauss (Germany), Patricia Portela (Portugal), Glyn Roberts (Australia), Kris Nelson (UK), Rok Vevar (Slovenia).

You can find the full program of Lithuanian Showcase here.

We encourage you to register to the Lithuanian theatre showcase as early as possible as the number of tickets to the shows is limited.

The final registration deadline is September 10th.
